Week 7_Post 1: Pages I Liked

My company is called Brightwork newmusic and it is a non-profit classical sextet based in LA.

The pages I chose to "like" as BWNM are within the music industry, specifically related to non-profit organizations, coalitions, and other chamber ensembles.

The "like as page" feature will help grow my business because it shows respect for the work that other groups do and affects many different groups including the businesses themselves, the people in their network, and is also a matter of establishing a public record. Following other pages also helps to stay in the loop in regards to competition, current social media trends, and industry norms.

  1. Fractured Atlas: This is a non-profit organization that fiscally sponsors BWNM so that we can accept donations from individuals who want tax write-offs. Fractured Atlas has a lot of great resources in addition to supporting many groups like ours.
  2. Left Coast Chamber Ensemble: This classical quartet shares a similar target market within the classical and contemporary art music realm. I like their minimalist photo choices.
  3. New Music USA: This is also a 501 (c) (3) that provides monetary support in the form of grants and marketing for composers, performers, and audiences of new American music. With their updates, BWNM might find a composer to commission.
  4. New Music Box: This is a publication under New Music USA that features American Composers. Perhaps in the future we can work with this zine to highlight the work that BWNM does with SoCal composers.
  5. Yamaha Music USA: Yamaha is a huge contender in the music industry from products and services to grants and advocacy. It's good to keep an eye on industry norms.
  6. Innovative Percussion, Inc.: Our percussionist Nick Terry is an IP performing artist. We should support those who support us.
  7. Tuesdays @Monk Space: T@MS is an intimate concert series in Korea Town in LA and is a project started by Aron Kallay and some local composers and administrators in Orange County. This could be a potential venue for BWNM concerts and premiers.
  8. Piano Spheres: Piano Spheres is a project by one of our founders Aron Kallay. Liking and sharing their content creates good will and more awareness for the contemporary music genre as a whole.
