Week 9: Alternative Assignment No.1

For the number of followers that Ensemble Klang (@EnsembleKlang) has on Twitter, they should be posting far more than they do now. Their profile cover photo is very interesting and their bio is witty and succinct. They have approximately 3000 followers, yet have only posted once since September 2017, which was at the tail end of March. Looking through their profile, a majority of the tweets were by other accounts who tagged/mentioned them, which I think is hard to get going online, so while they still can whoever manages their account should be incorporating the accounts that mention them and build a stronger sense of community.

TAK Ensemble (@TAKensemble) has a decent cover photo, but after the initial glance, it is a letdown due to the degree of pixelation. An easy fix would be a version of that photo with higher resolution. TAK has a good ratio of following to followers at 1:2. The content that they post surrounds upcoming events and is rather generic as every other ensemble account is doing just the same with hooks like "TONIGHT!!" (of which Brightwork is guilty of...). They had  more responses from followers when they posted pictures of the whole ensemble doing everyday things, like celebrating with a bottle of champagne. I think that this can be capitalized on more, though it is challenging to get professional musicians together for a single shot, much less a rehearsal!

I CARE IF YOU LISTEN (@icareifulisten) has over 70K Twitter followers. Almost all of their posts contain an interesting picture. Their posts that only have a link and a sentence or two of copy don't have as many interactions. This would be a good account to work with to announce new commissions, residencies, and upcoming performances because they are based in NYC and could broaden Brightwork's content reach to the east coast.

Cypress Quartet (@cypressquartet) desperately needs a cover photo. The plain purple cover looks out of place with the rest of their content. Cypress Quartet has quite a few followers at 2000, I am wondering how they obtained that many if they haven't had a post since July 2017 until the third week of February 2018. It appears that their following was based on retweets and being tagged by other accounts. Retweets are great, but it would be more meaningful if they did a quote and added a little blurb to create conversation.
